Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in performing arts (now called Maureen O'Hara), would have placed her, in America's eyes, into the class of child prodigies. This was a natural trait for a child born in Ireland, surrounded by gifted parents and a loving family. Maureen entered the safe haven of her parents on August 17, 1920, at Ranelagh (a suburb within Dublin), Ireland. The mother of Maureen, Marguerita Lililburn FitzSimons a skilled contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based company and was the owner of a portion of "The Shamrock Rovers," a renowned Irish soccer team. Maureen FitzSimons first FitzSimons child. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen was a natural athlete and was a fan of tough sports. Her talent for performing perfectly complemented her passion for sports. It was evident by her winning pretty much every Feis award for drama or performances in the theater that her nation offered. When she was 14she was accepted into the Abbey Theater, where her dream was to pursue the art of opera and classical theatre.
