Maureen Denise McCormick was born on 5 August 1956 at Woodland Hills California the youngest and only child of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick. Her father worked as an elementary school teacher, and her mother as an at-home mom. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her brothers older than her. McCormick has always loved singing, dancing and putting on puppet shows. When she was just six years old, young, she took home the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley pageant. Pat Domigan at Jack Wormser Agency called to ask her if she'd like to go into show business. McCormick was hired to star in her first big performance in 1964 on an tv commercial featuring Mattels most recent doll, Baby Pattaburp. She subsequently starred in the role of Chatty Cathy in a commercial which was later adapted for Wind It up and It's Broken in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was one of 1200 children to play the oldest towheaded girl in The Brady Bunch. The sitcom starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed newlyweds, who shared an unmarried family. The show lasted five seasons. McCormick wrote in her book Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice Published in 2008 McCormick revealed how during the 5th season of the television show, she was close to losing her the love of her life to her brother Barry Williams. He was 19. She was just 16. We would've had a couple, she added. The timing, however, wasn't the right time.
