Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox's parents are Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox. Dorothy Farquharson is her mother as is Thomas Allison Lennox, father. Lennox studied flute, piano as well as harpsichord at Royal Academy of Music London for three years during the 1970s. She lived off of the student allowance, and relied off on a part-time job to supplement her income. Lennox did not feel happy with the quality of her skills compared to others at Royal Academy and began looking for alternative paths. Lennox began her career as musician with the group Dragons Playground. She left the band before the band was invited to compete on I.T.V.'s talent show New Faces. Between 1977 and 1980 she was main vocalist of The Tourists, a British Pop group. That was also where she got to know Dave Stewart with whom she formed the pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox went on to release her first solo album Diva. This was released in the year 1992. It received lots of praise, both from critics and the public. Nostalgia Lennoxs Sixth Solo Album debuted in the month of October 2014. The C.D. includes a collection of Lennoxs favourite blues and soul tunes from her upbringing. Additionally, in May 2019, Lennox released Lepidoptera which is a compilation of four improvised piano tracks. The E.P. The E.P. is her first self-produced album as well as a follow-up to an art installation she made at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art entitled Now I Let you Go... Annie Lennox is a Scottish singer and songwriter who was born on December 25, 1954. The Tourists gained some minor recognition for her and Dave Stewart's work during the 1970s. The group went on through the 1980s to become the popular duo Eurythmics. Lennox began her solo musical career in 1992, through her debut album Diva. It featured many well-known songs, including Walking on Broken Glass and Why. Medusa is the album she recorded as her first studio album in 1995. The album features covers of such songs as"No MoreI Love Yous and The Whiter Shade of Pale. The singer has released six solo album compilations and studio albums. |
